Ten Lives My Writing Can Save

We all get frustrated. Every part of me gets frustrated. We have that all in common. But we find our frustrations in our own ways. When one side tugs at a string, another side is tying the string tighter.

The daughter hates being bossed. She rolls her eyes. She picks at her family. She fights with the aunt who finds herself getting frustrated with the very things that the daughter finds herself doing. The daughter shows her frustration unlike all of the others. The daughter has the most comfort in being frustrated.

The sister walks on eggshells when frustrated. She understands the consequences of showing her frustration. The sister knows that her frustrations are reciprocated in this aspect of the relationship. She bottles her frustration.

The aunt is everything the daughter hates. She is the bossy one when frustrated. She gets frustrated when she expects more from her nieces. She gets frustrated in all of her love for them. She gets frustrated with the sister because the sister's role restricts her from what she might think is right.

The self is frustrated with the parts of the world she can't control. The parts of life and the parts of herself that are not in her control. Even when they feel like they should be in her control.
